What we did for the Kankurwa exhibition

Our work focused on production: we fabricated the exhibition pieces. To do this, we chose materials in keeping with the community’s culture. As a result, every element supports the story rather than working against it.

In an exhibition about the sacred, materials also communicate. For example, a texture, a colour or a finish can bring visitors closer to a way of seeing the world. It can also push them away from it. In this way, production becomes part of the exhibition narrative and not just technical support. Therefore, every choice of material is reviewed against the content. Above all, we want visitors to focus on the story, not on the structure.

How we produce an exhibition

• Design review: first, we study the drawings, the narrative and the pieces the museum needs.
• Materials: then we propose materials and finishes that suit both the content and the space.
• Fabrication: next, we build each piece in our workshop and check its quality before it leaves.
• Delivery: finally, we take the pieces to the venue and support their installation.

The result

An exhibition that opens a dialogue between two worldviews and highlights the richness of the Indigenous traditions of the Sierra Nevada and their sacred relationship with the land. In short, the Kankurwa exhibition brings together art, culture and reflection.
