For Museo Santa Clara in Bogotá we designed, built and installed the structures for the Juliana Ríos exhibition “La Promesa”. It is a travelling show on Wayuu culture.
The show explores the daily life of Wayuu communities and their relationship with spirituality and sacred imagery. Our build had to support that tone with respect. It also had to be able to travel.
First, we designed the exhibition structures that hold the artworks. Then we built them and installed them at the museum. We also developed visual and narrative elements that reflect the richness of Wayuu culture and accompany the visitor route.
In a build like this, the structure does not compete with the art: it supports it and gives it context. In addition, a travelling exhibition needs pieces that can be taken apart, transported and reassembled without losing quality. Each move also tests the joints, the finishes and the packaging. As a result, the design takes into account both the gallery and the journey. This way, the show can reach each new venue in good condition.
An immersive experience that invites visitors to understand and appreciate the worldview of the Wayuu people. In short, the Juliana Ríos exhibition brings together art, tradition and reflection in a build designed to travel.
